Physiotherapy in St. Peters
How Is It Different From Chiropractic?
Chiropractic care is focused on correcting the motion and alignment of a joint, whether in the spine or in the extremities. When a joint can’t move correctly or is out of position, a chiropractic adjustment is applied to correct the motion and position of the joint.
Physiotherapy is focused on the tissues surrounding those joints. Physiotherapy includes modalities such as strengthening, stretching, e-stim and laser therapy to create a change in the physiology of the muscles and soft tissues to help retrain the body to hold the joint in its proper position. Physiotherapy helps your adjustments hold longer, as the muscles are rehabilitated to provide the optimal support for the spine and other joints of the body.

What to Wear
Since physiotherapy involves stretching and exercise, we advise patients to wear comfortable clothes that allow easy movement, such as gym clothes. Some patients feel comfortable moving around in their work attire, and that’s okay with us—just no dresses or skirts, please.
